If Ashley Hall Had Any Class...

If Ashley Hall could create any class, what would you want it to be? This question may seem stupid and childish, but seriously, If Ashley Hall created your dream class, what would that class be? Your dream class doesn’t have to be something boring like a creative writing class. Instead, what if the creative writing class were more than creative writing? What if the class included journalism and writing short stories on whatever topic you wanted? What if it included writing a novel? That sounds more interesting than writing about a book you’ve recently read or about any other typical topic your teacher assigns you.

Instead of taking Spanish, Classics, or French for a language credit, what if you could take ASL instead? Ashley Hall offers lots of interesting classes, but we wish they had more! Here’s a list of classes that the Panther Post staff wishes we had!

1. Journalism- Journalism is a popular college major and many people are interested in taking journalism classes in high school. This class is also a good way to branch out from writing essays and creative papers to writing about current events and other important situations!

2. American Sign Language- American Sign Language or ASL, is a definite stand-out class! ASL is a stand-out on college applications and can even count as a language credit!

3. Current Events- Even though current events are considered to be just a topic, it would be super cool to have a class in which you go over current events and harkness your opinion on the events!

4. Life Skills- Something we all need. For example, you would learn how to manage money, how to cook, pay bills, do laundry, etc… Nothing is ever going to prepare you for growing up and living alone, but knowing the basics is important!

5. Robotics- Imagine Robotics Society taken to another level! Instead of just working with the prebuilt robots, you could build a robot from scratch, learn the advanced code to control your robot, and study the different types of robots!

Maybe this list has inspired you to look into journalism, or start learning ASL. Hopefully we will see some of these classes at Ashley Hall in the future!
